I'm almost 4 months

And I get more and more handsome every day.
Miller loves to smile and giggle. It doesn't take much for him to show off his gums. He is very interested in the things around him and is getting good grabbing toys and hair. :) Now if we can just get this child to sleep all night....

Baby in a Box

Thank you McCartney for "helping" me put Miller to bed. What would I do without that extra set of very small hands?

Happy New Year!!

In the later part of 2012, we bought a company, welcomed Miller and watched McCartney become the most doting and funniest big sister you've ever seen.  Every year has it's ups and downs, but we couldn't be more blessed.  Every time Miller brings his hands to his chest and smiles his big smile or McCartney hugs me and says, "Mommy, you're my best friend." I try to remember the moment forever.

To ring in the new year, we had the Galbreaths and Walters over for dinner.  We had an early (fake) countdown at 10:00 so the kids could toast and sing "happy new year!"  They jumped and danced and were so fired up.

McCartney held a meeting in the loo.  Maybe they were discussing new year resolutions?

That was one heck of a party.  We took it easy on January 1st.

Christmas 2012

Ted and I were saying this was one of the best Christmases we can remember.  McCartney is at the cutest, sweetest age. She was excited about every present she opened and was so sweet and fun with all the family.

Matching pjs on Christmas Eve
"Bruddy! Oh, I just love bruddy so much!"

Has Santa lost his mind?  Yes.  All McCartney wanted for Christmas was a drum set because she wants to be a drummer when she's big. What can you do?

We went to Nana's for breakfast and more presents on Christmas morning.  We were spoiled as usual and McCartney bossed Coleman around, as usual.

McCartney buried herself with her presents

Finn and Miller
Then we headed up to Ninie and Pappy's.  Em, Joe, Brick and Leo flew in from Texas that day too and we were all home in time for our traditional Christmas dinner!

These three cousins had a blast together all week.  For being in tight quarters for about 5 days, they all got along amazingly well.  McCartney had so much fun, and after we left Leo asked for McCartney for days. "Carkey?"
paper land!

Ted took a long rope and made loops for reindeer (me, Ted, Em, Joe, mom and dad) to the pull the kids on a sleigh through the woods.  We had the most encouraging cheerleader riders.  "You can do it pappy!  Good job reindeer!"

Indiana visit

Kate made a pre-Christmas visit to her mom's in Indianapolis so we all got to meet Ruby Stokes for the first time!  You can see Miller is hitting on her already.  "Hey baby."  And Hollin is like, "Dude, you just met her."
These babies were born within 3 weeks of each other.

Reunited and it feels so good! I wish I'd had a video camera to capture these two meeting again after 6 months.  They jumped and screamed and squealed! They are peas in a pod, partners in crime.

Liz Hahn hosted a small reunion for those of us that were visiting and live close.  It was amazing to see everyone and for all the babies and big kids to play.  I felt so lucky holding some of these ladies' babies.
Rachel's quote was the best.  When she got home, Shawn said "was it just like old times?" And Rachel replied....pause..."No.  No it wasn't."

Then we headed north!
Since Teddy has bought Ohio Earth food, we visited Topeka more in November and December than we did total last year. That's fine with me.  We love to see Ninie and Pappy.

McCartney, Teddy and Miller are all asleep on the way home. :)

Miller is 3 months old!

Miller celebrated being 3 months old by reaching for a toy from Jesse.
He smiles and laughs a lot. His favorite thing to hear are the vowels, "A E I O U" and "Hi little Teddy!" He beams.
He's a little tyke, weighing in at 12.4lbs.

First snow!

It's Saturday at 9 AM so of course we hear a rap tap tap on the front door.  McCartney says, "the kids are here-a!"

While Ted was having an all out snow ball battle with Zach and Kayla, McCartney was eating snow.

Cool down and warm up.

Christmas Crafty!

Give McCartney a craft idea and she jumps in with both feet.  We made salt dough ornaments for everyone in the family.  She sculpted them and then painted them with the individuals' favorite color.  So sweet! Then she had a hard time parting with the one's she painted and kept putting them back on the tree.

Reindeer pose

The Wortman boys came over to make sugar cookies.  The three kids were so funny.  They would run in the room really fast just to make a cookie shape and then run right back out.  We did get them to sit still for a second to eat a cookie in the end.
