Tonight she put on her sparkley purple dress shoes and looked up at me and said, "mommy, how do you know if you were born a princess?"

Today was the last day of McCartney's ballet class. They preformed a routine for all the parents and she did great! It was so cute, it choaked me up. 

Miller's 1st Birthday

    M is for Miller!  You are invited to celebrate his first birthday!                           

One night we were reading a Muppet Babies book and realized that Miller looks just like baby Fozzie.  It's the big smile and golden hair or something.  We call him Baby Fozzie when he gives us his biggest grin, so we decided on a birthday party with some Muppet touches.  

While the others went camping, Em and I tackled a rolled fondant birthday cake.    

We were so proud of ourselves.  

All of his family came to his party, even his dog.

Ted and Rob had a competitive kickball game going on while the little kids played with outdoor toys that Nana brought.  

 We all cracked up when Miller picked up his whole piece of cake with one hand.  He is so funny and sweet!

Cousins camping trip

Ted, Rob, and Joe decided to take Brick, Leo, McCartney and Coleman on a cousin's camping trip down at the land.  You can imagine the planning and excitement that ensued, mostly from Ted. :)

They had a wonderful time shooting rockets, walking in the woods, cooking on the fire, and eating s'mores.  They all slept in bunk beds that Ted built and they actually slept all night, after they giggled for a couple of hours first.  It's going to be a bi-annual trip!

Ballerina rockstar

McCartney requested to take ballet so we signed her up for a little 6 week session. She loves to show us what she's learning. I think she's better suited for hip hop though. Little girl's got moved like Jagger. 

Too big!

This little man is getting so big. He's learning to "talk" with lots of sounds and can cruise around the house holding on to the furniture. He's still so very sweet and cuddly. 

These smarty pants

About a week ago Ted said, "hey Bruddy Boy," and Miller turned and looked at him.

He knows his name. He knows his nick name anyway. 

Yesterday, Miller played peek-a-boo all by himself.  He was holding his pj's over his and smiling so big!

McCartney's language is exploding.  She was telling us a story yesterday and she used the word "literally." "Brick was climbing on the car, literally." She knows every song on the radio and can reason like an adult....sometimes.  When we were in Colorado, she told Charlie Mae that she was not going to share the paints because she traveled there all the way from Ohio and she was a guest!

A summer of Firsts

McCartney loves her little brother so much.  She sometimes wishes Bruddy Boy was a little older so he could hang with her more, but he is growing up fast and we are loving it that they can start to do some things together.

Miller and mommy couldn't make it to the fireworks but daddy took McCartney and they loved it.

The best thing happened in June!

The Marshall's moved to Dublin!!  Joe took a job in Columbus, thank goodness!!!  We missed them to pieces while they were in TX and now we get to see them everyday.  McCartney loves playing with her cousins, loves her Aunt Em and words can't describe how happy I am to have my sister here.

He stands! (For a few seconds)

Miller is nine months old and he has a new trick.  He can stand, hands free!

He is weighing in at 17.4 lbs and is 27 inches tall.  He is just as sweet as ever and loves to cuddle.  He is very vocal and is saying "dada, gaga, baba..."  I swear I heard "mama" the other day.  He definitely knows his own name because his eyes light up when we say it.
He loves to watch his big sister and smile at her as she goofs around and he CRACKS up when we kiss and tickle his belly.  He is a giggle bug.

8 months!

Miller is almost 8 months and he just learned a new trick. I walked in his room to find him standing in his crib! 

Go little man!  He's also army crawling all over the room. It's going to be a busy summer. 

7 months old!

Miller is 7 months and he's getting so big.  He likes to be heard now.  He claps his hands together and hollers when we walk out of the room.  He can sit up and he has two bottom teeth popping through.  He is trying hard to crawl and it won't be long now, because  he can army crawl all over the room.  

He's just as sweet as the come.  He's is so easy going and happy, and he loves to cuddle.  When we pick him up, he buries his head and gives sweet hugs.

Einstein, Christopher Walken, Kevin Bacon, Joe Dirt.... these are all comparisons to Miller's hairdo.  Finally at 6 months, after I had trimmed his bangs twice, I decided it was time.  Bye bye bouffant.

Robert Pattison's hair in Water for Elephants was the inspiration, but it turned out even cuter.  I didn't think that was possible.
